This would have been just another song, except that it has Mpura as one of the guests. Unfortunately, Mpura died in a car crash involving four other artists (who also died). It was a terrible moment for amapiano music in South Africa.

The release of “Amacala” indicates that Mpura (and co) might be gone, but he’s still alive in the spirit of friends and associates out there. And we expect he’ll be for a long time. He left a legacy.

“Amacala” is a work of lavish charm, although there might be way too many artists on the song. But, no, they didn’t spoil the broth. This much should be obvious even on your first listening session.
