In any case, those whose fathers have passed on, paid tribute to them via web-based networking media.

Nomzamo Mbatha, Major League DJz, Enhle Mbali, J Something, and Gail Mabalane communicated their adoration and hurt to their late fathers.

In the mean time, Pearl Thusi lost her father scarcely any months prior and it truly broke her, yet she was quiet during father’s festival.

In his last days on earth I had the honour to be this man’s caretaker. I was 14 and whether it would be in the middle of the night or early morning before school, if he called out from his room “Sisi!” I would be there in a second with whatever the ask or need. Being of service to my dad is a graceful gift I thank God for everyday. Just as he would wake up EVERY SINGLE DAY at 4am to make me a sandwich for school that I didn’t like, so I would give it away at school just so I don’t come back with it in my lunchbox 🥶😂 because I didn’t want him to think I didn’t like it. Strange enough, it’s my favorite breakfast sandwich now. Lol. His nickname was ‘SKUTA’ because he was obsessed with Scooters as a young boy growing up. EVERYONE wanted to be around him. His personality was infectious and there was a charm and swagger about this here man. . On 15 February 2005, a call rang in and I answered. The lady on the other line said Nicholas Nxumalo is asking for his daughter, mother and sister. I called out to my grandmother and she came over to the phone. The line had already cut. Then the phone rang again. She picked up. Her lips curled downward, a silence fell in the room, her voice broke, her hands started shaking. She put the phone down and said, “akasekho uSkuta” . My heart pounded. And I knew from that moment on that my life would be altered forever. I had lost my best friend. Who would play farting games with me, hold my hand when we would take walks in the street, Who told ANYONE who would be willing to listen how proud he was of me, how smart I was lol. My father’s love for me came naturally. He gave me 14 INCREDIBLY FULL YEARS! I wonder what he would think of me now. To see the wonders of his works. This man could’ve been a carpenter in the way he calved my soul for I need nor lack for any affirmations. He gave them without restraint. . I gotta thank this guy for giving me his sense of humour, his innate empathy, his charming smile, his people skills, his laughter, his smarts and his heart. I wish I could thank him for giving me his pretty toes and hands but that department came from my mom 🥶😩💔😂 #HappyFathersDay SKUTA. Wish you were here my friend ♥️

Today has been such an awesome day. Been spoilt here at home rotten!😍 _ This is my dad and I… I must’ve been 5/6! He passed away and today as I celebrate Father’s Day I really wish he could’ve seen how good I am at being a father, a husband, and a man. I know there must be so many of us guys today that either don’t have our dads, dislike our dads, or are apart from our fathers due to distance. _ My fathers wasn’t present, was extremely hard working and he was dam good at what he did. He often broke my mother’s heart and struggled from depression and paranoia. I grew up disconnected from him but longed for him in secret! The older I became all I wanted was for him to cheer me on, to be the role model a father should be, to be present … _ he wasn’t. _ Now before you go thinking my dad was a monster, he was far from that! He was and will always be a hero to me. He did however struggle to be a father … but I know he struggled because he himself had a father that never showed him love, never hugged him, always excluded him, and did not show any affection. _ A couple of things I wish to leave with us men, more specifically to my people that are dads! I hope you get celebrated endlessly, I hope that you able to show the world the glory behind being a man! _ Don’t ever shy away from being an expressive father, shower your wife and kids with love, hugs, kisses, and be vulnerable with them … It’s never too late to be present! Big hugs, J _ And a shout out to the incredible fathers I know personally … you guys are all phenomenal fathers and together we will shape a whole new generation of kids that pass on the baton of love!
