Fikile, played by Phindile Gwala, comes back to the story of Imbewu, and she doesn’t care who she hurts. Fikile will be back on e.tv on November 27 at 9 p.m.
Let’s continue from where we stopped. Fikile dated Nkululeko, who is now played by Kay Sibiya. Her mother, Nompi, played by Zandi Nhlapo, told her the uncomfortable truth: the man she had been dating the whole time was her half-brother. When we last saw Fikile on screen, people thought she was dead.
Now, in the present, Fikile has come back and is now the owner of Emsamo. Soon, we find out that her return is part of a bad plan she has been making with an old enemy, Khemisi (Thabiso Lekoba), who is MaNdlovu’s cynical brother.
It looks like the actress was kicked off the show in 2021. City Press says that the actress hasn’t been doing a good job with her acting, so the producers of the show decided to tell her to get out.
“Phindile’s on-screen character was being struck off because of her craft competence. The producers have it that her talent is not what the showrunners expected out of her. However, it was revealed that the new producers were not very impressed, so they did not want to keep her,” said a source.
Speaking to Daily Sun Imbewu’s publicist, Eugene Cele slammed the fake reports.
“The reports are false. She left to pursue other career interests.”
“There is no bad blood between us, just grown, and we wish her well with her future endeavours,” said Eugene.
The actress Lusanda Mbane recently said that she would be leaving the show. She wrote on Facebook about the bad news.
“So this was Makhosazana’s last scene on Imbewu, after which I packed up from Durban and came back home. No one knows if Makhosazana is dead or not, but we leave it there. Let the universe and time decide,” she said.
The actress said she is not disappearing from the small screens as she has hinted at exploring her next character. “In the meantime, I get to explore my next character, which is not yet confirmed. I also get to be fully present for my husband and kids. So yes, it’s a wrap,” she wrote.
