Latest: Lamiez On Body Positivity

Lamiez Holworthy has told young women a good thing about being happy with their bodies. This is because a young woman had asked her for tips on how to feel good about her body.

Lamiez is one of the celebrities whose bodies are made fun of the most in the country. She is very proud of her body and all of its flaws, and she doesn’t want to make the trolls happy by being shy about her body.

She said that a 20-year-old woman had come up to her for help with body positivity.

“So I had a 20-year-old lady text and say “ I am 20 years old and thick AF with zero confidence- how do you do it?!”

“And my response was “I’m 30 with big legs, big thighs, cellulite, stretch marks, scars, and hyperpigmentation with A LOT of confidence, and here’s why. I don’t subscribe to society’s ideologies on what “perfect” is. I am a real woman with real imperfections and still,I think I am perfect just the way I am. I’ll be damned if I let social media and society to mess with my head and my heart. Little girl, YOU are enough.”

The last time she had to address Trolls was when she went on vacation wearing a zebra print bodysuit and exposing every ‘imperfection’ on her body.

She educated the Trolls saying she is very positive with her body. “After reading the crazy comments under this post, I decided to use this opportunity to TEACH,” she started off. “There’s a reason why I didn’t edit or use a filter to hide my thighs simply because…Dark skin on the inner thighs can be experienced by anyone, regardless of skin tone. It occurs when the skin on the inner thigh produces an abundance of melanin, a pigment that gives skin its color.”

“This is called hyperpigmentation. The discoloration of dark inner thighs may even stretch into the bikini or groin area. Black child, it is perfectly normal and okay,” she said before putting her trolls on blast.

“And to everyone else, before ong phaphela (before you become forward) or anyone else for that matter- ask yourself gore “Ke tsena kae” (what does that have to do with me?) I don’t have a problem with it, so why should you????”

She wouldn’t be the first celebrity to have to deal with body shamers. Makhadzi had a photographer do her dirty by sharing unedited pictures of her on stage. She got trolled to the point where she had to apologies for having dark inner thighs.

“I would like to apologise to all my fans if only if you really disappointed about these pictures…There were lot of beautiful pictures that the cameraman was gonna post, but he choose to post this to promote his brand but forgetting the damage he is doing to my soul…I know I am strong and all this will pass…Unfortunately I cannot change my inner part. I am like this and I am proud,” she said.

“The only thing that you people are doing is to try to edit my pictures nikhonanisa mafhungo .. yes I am strong but my family and friends they are not strong as I am…seeing them crying about edited pictures really break me and affect my me badly. I would like to ask everyone who react with this picture and edited pictures that you are planting something that can affect me badly…I humble my self politely to ask everyone to stop humiliating me…I don’t have energy to block you I love you all,” she wrote.
